This Sunday’s Match Game brought the greatest success we’ve seen with the Match Game yet. The brand new Saint Andrew’s fundraiser raised $166 just in this week! That’s incredible, thanks so much to everyone who participated. Thus far, the Match Game has raised over $400 over the first month. We hope everyone’s ready for some delicious treats next week.
Have you heard about The Match Game?
The Match Game is the coolest new fundraiser here at Saint Andrew’s United Church and there are many different ways you can participate. The overall goal of the game is to raise money for Saint Andrew’s in a fun (and delicious) way.
Here are the ways you can participate:
1- You can bake a dessert (or anything you feel like bringing in) and bring it into Church on Sunday
2- You can buy a delicious treat that was generously donated after Church on Sunday. You never know how much it will cost you, you have to pick the price out of a box and that’s what you pay. Prices range from 2-10$.
3-You can match. The person matching for a given week donates the equivalent of all the proceeds raised by the Match Game in that week and will receive a tax receipt for their donation.
The Match Game has had a couple of successful weeks thus far, and everybody continues to look forward to the yummy things this week, thanks to everyone who has been participating in our delicious fundraiser.
The summer is fast approaching! June is a very busy and exciting time of year. What better way to kick off the summer months than to join your Saint Andrew’s for morning worship this Sunday, June 1st? It’s one of the last Sundays of Sunday School and of the Match game before things settle down for the summer.which reminds us, stay tuned for a special post about the Match game, in case you haven’t yet had a chance to join in on the fun!
There’s a big Sunday coming up for Saint Andrew’s and for all our men and children. Sunday June 15th’s service will take place in the Memorial Hall and will mark the closing of Sunday School for the summer. There will also be a breakfast before the service for the men and their families, so bring a friend with you to Church!
In the context of the United Church, a Trustee is an individual who, along with the other members of the Board of Trustees for a congregation, holds all of the property of that congregation for the use and benefit of the congregation as part of the United Church. The Boad of Trustees exercise legal ownership of all church property subject to the guidance of the congregation through the Official Board, and subject to the regulations of the United Church of Canada. At St. Andrew’s United Church the Trustees are Rev. K. Alice McAlpine, Erich Bauer, Chester Ross, Ken Semper, and Lou Sarka.
This item was proposed by Mr. George Christie, who provided a scanned version of our 170th Anniversary Memory Book. Click here or on the image to the left to view the booklet …
The issue here is how to output, for example, a newsletter created in Microsoft Publisher. One the one hand, we want to be able to create a nice physical copy in booklet form with all the pages in the right order after being printed and assembled. On the other hand, we would like to be able to produce output in pdf format with all of the pages in order. This second format could be used to email to members of the community, or to go on the website for interested members and visitors.
Fortunately, this challenge has been responded to in the form of a youtube video generated by a group called effective church communications. The video is called “How to Create a Booklet and Share it as a PDF”.
I do not ask that He must prove
His Word is true to me,
And that before I can believe
He first must let me see.
It is enough for me to know
It’s true because he says it’s so;
On His unchanging Word I’ll stand
And Trust, till I can understand.
