The Secret is out! This year is just flying by and this year we have had lots to celebrate. This is a special congratulatory post for Mr. and Mrs. Grindlay. The Grindlays celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary August 21st.
Unfortunately, due to poor ticket sales, the Harvest Supper has been cancelled for his Saturday. Hopefully, we’ll be able to hold one next year. See you Sunday.
The Match Game was back for its first week since the beginning of the summer today. Today alone, the tastiest fundraiser raised $119 for the Church! Thanks to everyone for their contributions of food and money, see you again next week!
Don’t forget, tomorrow the Match Game restarts. Bring some desserts or get ready to buy some tasty treats tomorrow during coffee time. Also, tomorrow Fundscrip will be available for purchase, so don’t forget to see Nancy Christie before you leave.

This post is for anybody who’s curious about Fundscrip.
Fundscrip is a fundraiser at our Church and it’s run by Nancy Christie. The way Fundscrip works for us is you pick from any one of the Fundscrip retailers (for a list click here) that you want to buy gift cards for. Taken for example IGA or Metro, you know you’re going to buy groceries, right? The way Fundscrip works is you come in on Sunday with a cheque and you tell Nancy what stores you want gift cards for and for how much. She places an order with Fundscrip on Monday and it gets picked up on Thursday or Friday. She gives you your order on the following Sunday. Sometimes, she even has inventory so you can buy your gift cards on the spot (No guarantee though).
This, of course might seem tedious. However, the simple act of thinking ahead and paying for your groceries or purchases through the Church Fundscrip gives the Church a certain percentage of your gift card, at no cost to you! So if let’s say you spend $100 a week at IGA, if you paid for your groceries with Fundscrip gift cards, you would be giving the Church $3, since IGA gives 3%. And if you’re somebody who loves pizza, the Fundscrip program will LOVE you, since many of the pizza companies ( Pizza Pizza for example) give 10% or more.
So, that’s all you need to know about Fundscrip. Your every day purchases can make a big difference for the Church, and at no cost to you! We hope this article has given you some insight into the program and if you’re still not convinced, see or call Nancy Christie for details about how easy it can be for you to make the change to paying with Fundscrip.
We we hope everyone is enjoying their beautiful Sunday, either with us at the BBQ or on your own in the sunshine.
This is just to announce that the MATCH GAME restarts next week! So get ready for some sweet treats or some great matching. See you next Sunday!

The Chateauguay Food Bank has depleted all of its dry stock because of the great need of the families it has been supporting this year. Unfortunately, there are still a couple of weeks between now and the annual Food Drive for the Chateauguay Food Bank. Donations may be brought to Obsession Bakery (210 A St. Francis Blvd) or to Saint Andrew’s marked for the food bank.
Thanks in advance for your support!
